What do I need to access your wireless network? [top of page]
In order to access our wireless network, you need to make sure that your wireless device has either a Wireless-B or Wireless-G network card. You also need some sort of Internet browser to login to our system.
How do I connect to your hotspot? [top of page]
Connecting to our hotspot is simple!
- First, make sure that your wireless adapter is turned “on”.
- Then, open up your Wireless Network Connection manager.

- If you don’t see our wireless network listed, press the “Refresh network list” to scan again. If our wireless network is still not listed, there may be a problem with your hardware, or there might be a software conflict. Some wireless card providers install their own software for connecting to wireless networks. If that is the case, refer to your wireless card’s documentation for directions on connecting to a wireless network.
- Once you see our wireless network listed, press the Connect button.
- Once the status changes from “Connecting…” to “Connected”, that’s it!
How do I login? [top of page]
- Logging in is simple with us! Make sure that you have a valid access code before attempting to login to our network. You will be printed a receipt with an access code valid for the amount of time purchased.
- Simply open up the Internet browsing application of your choice, and browse to any page as you normally would.
- You will be presented with a page similar to this.

- It will ask for your access code (ticket ID), and a security code (image code).
- Be sure to read the Terms of Service before clicking “I have read and agree to the Hard Drive Cafe…”.
- Click “Login”. That’s it!
How long does my time last? [top of page]
Your time will last the amount that is printed on the receipt given to you. Please be aware of your time so that your Internet access is not cut of in the middle of something. Also note that the time starts once you login, and will continue until your time runs out.
Can I reuse the code? [top of page]
No, you cannot reuse the code. Once your time is up, the code is automatically deleted.
What about security? [top of page]
There is no built-in security on our wireless network, so use caution when sending any personal data over our wireless network.
Can I check my email using your hotspot? [top of page]
Yes, you can check your email with whatever email client you like. However, you cannot send email from your email client. We have disabled port 25 for security purposes. This does not mean you can’t send email at all, however. Many email providers have a “web” interface, which will allow you to send email from a different protocol. Some email providers also have alternative ports/services that you can use to send email from your email client. Ask your email provider for more information.
